1.  Teachers should have students create a dictionary of euphemisms that they have heard. The students should research the meanings and then publish a small book with the definitions. The teacher can keep the book, and every year the class could add more to it. In this lesson, students are learning the language, research skills, and how to work as a group.
2. The students should read articles from magazines and newspapers. As a group determines which parts are doublespeak and euphemisms. In small group have the students rewrite the article using facts and no euphemisms or doublespeak. Then have the students read the new articles and compare the differences. The will help see have euphemisms and doublespeak distort articles.
