Anna Spradlin was my g-g-g-great grandmother.
She was the daughter of James Spradlin, b: 1785 Russell Co., Virginia,
d: abt. 1871 Lower Twin Branch, Jennies Creek, Johnson Co., Ky and
Rachel Connelley, b: April 8, 1783 Guilford County, North Carolina,
d: June 7, 1855 Lower Twin Branch, Jennies Creek, Johnson Co., Ky

Notes for James R. Spradlin:

James was the son of Joseph Spradlin. Joseph was born Abt. 1760.
Joseph was the son of Andrew Spradlin. Andrew was born Abt. 1730.
James suffered from bone condition which increased in severity with his age. By the time of his death, his back was so bent that the coffin could not be shut. Constantine Connelley (William Elsey's father) sawed off the coffin lid at the breast so that James' head would fit in the coffin. The coffin was then placed in another box. Despite this condition, James was often seen riding his horse to Paintsville until shortly before his death.

Margaret Spradlin was married to Mason Ratliff.
She was the daughter of Oliver Spradlin & Mandy Rice Spradlin.
