In the royal palace on Naboo, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are helping Queen Amidala retake her throne. But the two Jedi are distracted when Darth Maul appears and the fight begins. This fight is immediately different, with Maul's twin bladed lightsaber being quite unlike anything seen before. The battle is fast and furious, but at the same time, flows smoothly. The action never lets up as the battle heads into the palaces power centre, with Maul holding off the two jedi all on his own. The fight rages across narrow walkways around columns of energy until Maul kicks Obi-Wan in the face, knocking him off the walkway. This lightsaber battle is, quite simply, spectacular. The three-way combat is something totally new, and the fact that Maul can hold off both Jedi is a testament to his skill. You can always tell exactly what's happening, and the martial arts style fight has to be seen to be believed. Add in John Williams excellent piece of music, "Duel of the Fates", and you can't go wrong.
