The day that Jacob was born, he was literally our little ray of sunshine. It had been overcast and gloomy all day long, and even though he was born after the sun had set, he still brightened up our day for us. Other than his birth, the next best thing that had happened that day was the fact that Zoe got to meet her baby brother almost immediately after he was born.
When I had woken up on the morning of Jacob's birth, it felt as if my water had broken, however, it didn't seem like it had been a lot, unlike what I had been expecting. Ryan was leary of going to work that morning, but I sent him to work anyways with the assurance that I'd call the doctor's office, let them know what was going on with me, and find out what my doctor wanted to do. I felt that if they didn't want me to go into the office, then Ryan would have missed out on quite a bit of work, which isn't something that we can afford.
So after I had gotten Ryan off to work, I went ahead and called my doctor's office and spoke with Elaine, Dr. Crane's nurse. After I had explained everything to her, she asked if it would be okay for her to call me back so that she could talk with Dr. Crane about everything I had explained to her. A short while later, I recieved a return call from Elaine, and a request from Dr. Crane to go into the doctor's office.
So I first called Gretchen to see if she was going to be home so that Ryan and I could take Zoe over to her house. Needless to say, there wasn't any problems there. Then, since Ryan and I were both logged onto the MUD that we play, I sent him a message telling him to get home because Dr. Crane wanted me to go into the office. I then went upstairs to Zoe's room and started to get her stuff together in case she ended up having to stay with Gramma for more than a day. I ended up with 2 of my diaper bags packed for her in case it ended up being that she was with Gramma for the entire weekend. Luckily though, we didn't have to worry about taking the time to take Zoe's carseat out of our car and putting it into Gretchen's since she had just gone and bought a carseat for Zoe a couple of weeks prior.
After deciding that I was just going to let Zoe go over to Gramma's in her pj's, I went and gathered up the things that I thought that I was going to need for my stay in the hospital. However, I was quite scatter brained and I ended up forgetting half of my stuff at home. I managed to get everything together before Ryan had gotten home, so I decided to go over to our neighbor Danielle's to let her know what was going on. She then went and let our other neighbor Vivian know about everything, and by the time Ryan showed up at our apartment complex, all 3 of us were standing outside of Dainelle's apartment talking like everything was normal.
