| Sunday, 8/14/2005 Back from vacation... I had a blast!! Too bad it's over... but all good things come to an end eventually, until the next good thing comes along. ;) So yeah, sometime later today, or tomorrow, I'll be posting pictures of the festivities. The reunion was sooooo much fun!! It went really well, a couple glitches here and there, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little on the spot ingenuity. It's nice to be finished with it all, but I definitely would like to be a part of the planning for the 10 year reunion... depending on where I am and what I'm doing at the time. It was great to spend time with my family in Virginia, some of whom I hadn't seen since Thanksgiving last year. The time definitely went by too quickly, but that's ok, there's always Thanksgiving this year. I also saw my grandfather in Salisbury who I hadn't seen in a really really long time. I'd missed him a lot... and things are happening there so please pray that everything will work together and at the right time. Barbara and I had a fantastic time in OC! I love the beach! We went in the water, then layed on the beach, then went to the boardwalk with Melissa & Gabby, then we went back to the water and the beach with Gabby & Kimberly, went digging for sand crabs, then we went back to the condo for dinner. Finally, Barbara and I (with Melissa later) went down to the boardwalk, went shopping, saw some awesome sand sculptures, tried to run away from the creepy guitar playing guy, ate ice cream and candy apples, rode the super huge ferris wheel, and then walked all the way home on the beach (my pants were soaked). Someone had made a naked woman out of sand and in the dark, it actually looked like a dead body and it really freaked Barbara out... luckily it was just sand. And now I'm crazy sunburned on my back. Luckily Drew is awesome and he put ice on my back to cool down the skin, and then put on aloe with Lydocaine. That definitely helped with the pain and burn. So yeah... the beach, definitely an every summer thing from now on! Friday I drove at least 8 hours that day, battling traffic on every major road, I was so ready to get out of the car when I got back to NY. So I had taken Friday night off of work at Apa to get some R&R. You know... a vacation from my vacation... it was good, and definitely necessary. ;) On Monday I'm back to work at SUNY, and I'm having my stitches taken out too. My head itches a lot because it's healing, and the shaved patch is really starting to grow back. Hopefully it won't be noticable, but I don't think it will be. This week at work is going to be hectic because the semester is starting very soon, so everything that we've all been putting off all summer has to get done by Friday *cough* by-laws *cough*! Luckily, they're almost finished. Alright, that's it for now, but I'll be updating again soon... look for pictures! All is good, I'm currently here in MD, catching up with people, relaxing a little (not much yet though) and having a blast. The surgery went really well on Wed. though I was in pain for about a day, popping tylenol every 4 hours. I can finally wash my hair today, thank God!! Last night was great... it really came together very well. The pictures have already started rolling in so look for those either later in the week or early next week, depending on how well I can upload them to the site, and if I have the time. We all went to this place called Cosmopolitan in Fell's Point. After getting completely lost in the city trying to get there (stupid directions) we finally made it. There was 9 of us (was supposed to be 12 but some people couldn't make it/didn't show up) so I was definitely happy with the turn out. I'm so sore today though because we ended up going dancing at Have a Nice Day and yeah... hip circles, chest and pelvis undulations, shimmies... they leave for very sore muscles the next day. But all very fun and worth it, especially since I've only been trying to go to this place since junior year in college. Thank you so much to everyone (Paul, Georgia, Barbara, Stacy, Megan, Jason, TJ, Bart, Steve, and Mary) for making the night so much fun!! Tonight is my "5" year high school reunion (actually 6 years, but who's really counting?) and I'm syked about that. Since we've been planning this since October and working really hard to bring it all together, I really feel a genuine sense of accomplishment. Of course, lots of pictures coming from that too. :) Alright, time to get ready, finish my laundry (yes, I brought dirty clothes with me) run some errands, and then head over to the location. Good times will be had... especially by me!! ;) Bis Spaeter! |
