| Monday, 7/25/2005 (continued...) And last (but certainly not least) I have to detail the most amazing day ever !!! (ie. Saturday) Ok, so I've befriended someone else through work (Drew) who was one of the engineering techs who was installing the sound proofing material and some new equipment into the radio station studios. Well, we had gotten to talking about bikes and such, and on Saturday we ended up going for a ride around the Mid-Hudson Valley area. To anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to ride a bike... definitely do it! Though choose the driver selectively... make sure it's not someone who's all about joy-riding and doing crazy stunts with you still on it. Anyways, I loved riding, and I seriously wouldn't mind learning how to drive one myself. Something to ponder :) Well, while we were riding around through back roads and scenic routes, Drew took me to one particular place that (unbeknownst to him) I'm completely obsessed with. *drum roll* ... ... ... ... (have you figured it out yet?) Yes, it has finally happened! I saw the official shop for Orange County Choppers!!!! Words cannot describe how completely giddy I was (and still am) ... I'm such a groupie, and therefore a very big dork. So I didn't know until later, but the retail store that's near the shop actually has some of the bikes in there... and you can get so close to them you can touch them (though I'm sure they would prefer if you didn't). Drew already said he would take me back and we can actually stop in the store and I can gawk until my heart's content. Woohoo!! I can't wait! And yeah, the weather was beautiful and upstate NY is breathtaking this time of year. The winters stink, but the summers definitely make up for it. Drew and I also really hit it off, so we just had a really fun time together. And he talks just as much as I do... I didn't think that was possible for anyone to do. Unfortunately, because of this spontaneous excursion, I missed the church picnic... but yeah, definitely not too upset about it, I think I made the right choice. :) Anyways, now that I've burned up a good chunk of time, I'll move on to other things on the agenda. Bis Spaeter .~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~.~*~. Monday, 8/1/2005 HAPPY AUGUST!! Where did the summer go? Well, I'm not really sure what happened the first half, but so far the second half is shaping up quite nicely. Brian's last day was Friday, so it's a little sad around TCMC right now... I think Bill is going through some kind of denial/depression thing but he's keeping it to himself. Corinna ate lunch with us today, so that helped to fill the lunchtime gap a little. I really hope that things come through from Brian though, because he hasn't heard back from Cali yet... *fingers crossed* I'm going away on vacation starting Thursday... so here's the itinerary for anyone that's interested: Wed. 8/3 - Driving to MD in the evening Thurs. 8/4 - Hanging out with Barbara-ella during the day, and then gettin' down with a super crowd of MD peeps!!! Fri. 8/5 - Relaxing in the AM, then setting up for and attending my high school "6" year reunion in the evening! Sat. 8/6 - Hopefully hosting a wrap up reunion committee meeting/luncheon... then hanging out in the evening. Sun. 8/7 - Visiting peeps at Faith Community Church, then driving down to Va. to visit my dad, his parents, my aunts and uncles, maybe some cousins Mon. 8/8 - Visiting more family Tues. 8/9 - Still visiting family Wed. 8/10 - If there is any family left to visit... I'll be there Thurs. 8/11 - Driving to O.C. early AM to hang w/ Barbara @ the beach Fri. 8/12 - Driving from O.C. in MD back to NY, hopefully stopping on the way to have lunch with James. I'm having minor surgery on Wed. afternoon, nothing big, but the surgery is on my head, so I'm really hoping that the doctor won't have to shave too much of my hair. I she does, I seriously think I might cry. I'm really not vain, I just really like my hair and it's taken over a year to grow it out this long. And my goal is to try to get it to my waist... so this might put a damper on reaching that. Barbara said that if they had to cut a lot, then we would experiement with hairstyles and go shopping for hats. I told my brother that I would definitely be willing to wear a wig. I finally found a dentist (Bev from the SA office gave me a recommendation) so when I come back from vaca. I'll be able to take care of all that too. Man, I feel like I'm falling apart... what the heck?! ;) Joe and I talked last night for a while and we said our peace, mended any fences, and we're friends now. So for any mutual friends that thought it was going to be awkward... it's not. Everything's going to be fine so don't stress about it... though Sherri, I'm still not going to Greg's party but that's because I'll be in MD and I really can't drive to Long Island just to turn around and drive right back to MD... sorry doll, I still love you and we'll hang out when you get back to Marist next month. And I'm really sorry that you'll be all alone with Greg's weird friends. ;)~ Alrighty then... once again last but not least... my obsession had been continued and fulfilled!! Drew and I rode down to the OCC retail shop and I got to see the Black Widow Bike, the Christmas Bike, the Lance Armstrong Bike, Paul Sr.'s Bike, the T-Rex Softail Bike, the Fire Bike, Mike & Vinnie's Bike, the #4 Bike in the Paul Sr. Old School Series, the POW/MIA Bike, the 2 bikes designed by Paul Sr. & Paulie for the Support Our Troops Auction, as well as a couple other bikes that I didn't get pictures of (mostly more bikes from the Old School Series). I was like a kid in a candy shop!! And Drew is amazing because he just let me go wandering around the place for almost an hour. And yes, I got a shirt... I had to! So as if the cake wasn't enough... as we were driving away down 17K past the bike building shop itself, low and behold if the frosting didn't just randomly appear. And it came in the form of Paul Sr. pulling out onto 17K in front of us, going the opposite direction... AND HE WAVED!!! OH MY GOSH! I was good, I was done for the rest of the day! I have officially seen my most favorite person in the whole American Choppers crew in person! *sigh* Life is good. And to top it all off we had a really great drive down to the Hawk's Nest, had some fantastic German food in Port Jervis, and a cool, brisk, fun ride back to Wurtsboro... though a little bit too much protein for Drew... sorry about that. :\ Though tomorrow night I'm being put to the test and whipping out a much sought after homecooked meal. *fingers crossed* No pressure ;) Anyways... I'll write again on Wed. just to let everyone know how the surgery went, then I may or may not post while I'm on vaca. Depends on how busy I am and whether I feel like it or have any internet access. Cheers everyone, have a happy week!!! :) Bis Spaeter. |
