| Monday, 4/4/2005 The kids are back, oh god... I was really liking the laid back peace and quiet. Oh well, the summer will be here soon. Anyways, life is good. Monday a week ago I saw "The Pacifier" with Bill and Brian. They weren't particularly thrilled by it, but it made me laugh a few times so it was alright for me (even though there were a few times when it got overly corny). Vin Diesel made it all better though. ;) I also spent some time with Joe, which was good since we ended up not crossing paths again until Friday evening. Tuesday, I left work around 3pm with Corinna and Emily to go shopping at Woodbury Commons. For anyone who lives around here, it's like the mecca for women who love outlet shopping. But it's not low-down outlet stores like at Arundel Mills (no offense) but very snooty. (ie. Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Malo, Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferrangamo, Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Versace...) I picked up a pair of white dress shoes, black sandals, and a beige/cream colored sleeveless blouse. Then the three of us met up with Brian and Bill at this Asian restaurant called Yobo. It was so awesome! We sat on pillows on the floor at one of those tables that are only 2 feet off the floor. We ended up ordering a bunch of different food and sharing. Unfortunately Joe still wasn't feeling well so he didn't feel up to going. :-/ Wednesday was my catch up day to do housework and grocery shopping and get a normal amount of sleep. I slept so good that night... better than I have in a while. Thursday afternoon I had to office to myself because Bill and Elkyn went to the Javetz Center to check out the car show. Then I had to work Thursday night until 11:30pm at the security company. It was a good night, except that the owner came in and was kind of hovering over me for a while. But then he made me coffee and left me a bagel in case I got hungry. He's got a tough exterior, but I think he's a nice guy underneath it all. Friday was a good day, though bittersweet because it was the last day of spring break. There was poker or something like it at Greg's house and a CD release party at Brian's house, but Joe and I opted to stay in for the evening, make chicken alfredo together, and just relax. He still wasn't totally feeling better. We had a great time though, it was really nice. I napped a lot on Saturday because I had to work over-night from Sat. @ 11:30pm to Sun. @ 7:30am. Though through my on and off napping, I still managed to catch the news brief when the Pope died. :( You just can't help but be sad, no matter what your religious orientation is. Work was alright, but I had to deal with a software glitch that forced me to reboot the computer and go manual for about 20 min. To make a long story short, that's just a major pain in the ass. And having never dealt with this at this company before on this software, I was ready to quit right there. 2 hours later, everything was back to working and under control. The rest of the night was relatively peaceful and quiet. Anyways, there were a couple other things that happened, but I have to run. I'll write more later. Ciao! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Monday, 3/28/2005 Fun times this week... but I'm still in a dilemna. On Wed. a little bird told me that someone I work with is "interested" in me. But the little bird won't tell me who it is because I have a boyfriend. Maybe that's a good thing and it's better for me to not know... but my curiosity is in full swing. And I have my theories too, which can also be bad. Anyways, either I'll forget about it, or I'll find out. I went to the Maunday Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday services at a local Lutheran church and I liked the way the liturgy was conducted. I still don't know if this is the church for me or not, but at least this is a step in the right direction. On Sat. after the vigil, there was a fellowship dinner so I stuck around for that and met a few people. I really didn't feel "comfortable" hanging around, but I figured that would be the only way to meet some people and get a better feel for the church congregation. Anyways, it was good, the people are pretty nice (though a little older than me) and I had the chance to chat with the pastor for a little bit. He had good things to say. We're probably going to meet for a longer conversation sometime next week. Maybe... Hmmm... what else? Oh, I was supposed to go to Chinatown and meet up with Sherri and Greg on Sat., but Greg go really sick late Friday night, so no Chinatown trip. :( oh well, there'll be other times. This coming weekend is the first official meeting of the Old Mill High School Class of '99 reunion comittee. Unfortunately, I can't be there, but it'll still be really good because by the end of the meeting, there should finally be a decision of where, what date, what time, etc etc. the reunion will be held. I'm really glad that someone found Len and he's stepping up to the organizational plate. Because without disclosing any details, we were starting to lag a little. Anyways, it looks like this might actually be happening. Joe's back from the Dominican... and super tan too. Though he caught a cold on the plane coming back, so he's been sick for the last couple days. Yesterday, Easter, I drove down to Jersey to have dinner with Joe and his family. Yummy yum, fantastic food. And with fantastic food comes fantastic leftovers to take back home with me. It was a really great way to spend Easter since I couldn't go home to MD. As of this week, I'm starting at the security company on my own shift. I'm really looking forward to that, because then I'll be working on the weekends so I'll have my evenings during the week free again, I'll be on an actual schedule so I'll actually know when I'm supposed to be working and when I'm not instead of having to guess if I'm supposed to come in and train or not, and since I'll be working mostly over-nights, I'll still be able to do stuff during the day if anything comes up and I'll just work my sleep schedule on the weekends around work and social stuff. It's a win win win situation. Though yesterday I met the owner of the company, and I'm seriously convinced he has mafia ties. If I seriously screw up, I'm gonna get whacked. Well, I know there's stuff I missed, but you get the general idea. This week is spring break for the campus, so it's very dead around here. I'm trying to find/remember stuff that I've been needing to do but putting off. Until next time... Ciao! |
