| Tuesday, 3/22/2005 Lot's to tell, I'll try to make it short, sweet, and to the point. Let's begin. My birthday freakin' rocked! I went home to MD, Joe came with, and we partied hearty with family, and then partied hard with friends. Drove in on Friday, saw Kim (she gave me pink peep chicks), spent time with the family (mom, brother, grandmother) Saturday, ate great food, opened presents... yay, I have a stuffed pink "peep" bunny from Sean now sitting on my desk at work... a beautiful sterling silver heart-shaped jewelry box, sterling silver necklace and "R" pendant, season 3 and 4 of SATC all from Joe... clothes from G-Mom... and money from Mom. Sunday morning G-Mom had to head back to Va., but then Barbara, James, and Paul came over later to hang out, eat more food (mostly leftovers from the night before), eat more cake, open more presents... snoopy beach towel/bag, Shall We Dance dvd, blue & pink peep bunnies from James... beautiful baby pink crochet camisole, smoothy blender from Barbara... and Barbara gave Joe Starwars Lego! We had a blast that night, and the whole weekend for that matter. I drove Joe and I back on Monday during the day, and then Monday evening I started my training for the sec. comp. Trained Tuesday night too and it went really well. Wednesday night I got a pair of free tickets to see Second City on campus, a touring company performing sketch comedy. Joe and I went, as did Bill, Corrina, Brian, Emily, and a couple other RDs. So Joe got to meet Bill, and I "have the coolest boss ever" (quoteth Joe). Corrina really liked Joe (as she informed me the next day). And the comedy was great too... "your god hits like a girl", "it's your fault", meeting a serial killer at the laundromat (I think that's why Bill tells me not to talk to strangers when I go to do my laundry). Anyways, I was supposed to train on Thursday night, but the woman got sick, and the person who filled in for her was sorta new, so they didn't want me to train with her. That was perfectly fine with me, because then I was able to go out with Bill, Corrina, Brian, and Emily to Mahoney's for St. Paddy's Day. It was an absolute blast!!! I had a great time, we got to see a bagpipe band, I had my first Irish car bomb, I found out that Brian spoke german so we throughout the night we would switch back and forth between English and German, I took Bill's cell phone and changed the language to Spanish and programmed the banner to say "Bill's Pants", we went to Bacchus for food, this old guy that Bill was convinced was the guitarist for U2 kept checking me out and it was freaking me out, and when Bill was taking me back to get my car, we had a really great conversation. So yeah, before I realized it, it was midnight. Friday morning we were all a little groggy, but it was worth it. Then I came down with a cold. Ended up being a vegetable all weekend, eating toast, drink juice and tea, and watching the entire 3rd season of SATC. Went back to training Monday night, that went well again. Yesterday and today at the college have been crazy and hectic. Bill brought me Easter flowers today to make my office more cheerful and spring-time-like. It was very sweet, I have a great boss. He also gave flowers to the NYPIRG project coordinator because she was really sick yesterday, and now we think that she thinks Bill is trying to hit on her. So now I'm trying to run interferance to get things back to normal. Fun times in the department of TCMC. Joe left for his spring break in the Dominican Republic on Friday morning, and he'll be back in the US sometime this coming Saturday night. It's weird not being able to call him or talk to him, but honestly, it's ok. It sorta hit me last Wednesday that we wouldn't have any communication for 11+ days, but I also think it's good because as much as I love being around Joe and spending tons of time with him, it's good to remember that everything needs a balance, and that I can survive, have fun, and enjoy life while he's away doing other things. And with being so busy, it's not a big deal. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I think he and I have a very "yin-yang" relationship and that's definitely good. Anyways, time to run to my other job... thanks for reading. Ciao! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Friday, 3/11/2005 So the colors on the page are kinda blah... so is the weather. If it snows one more time *sigh* I'm just going to have to deal with it like I do every time. Monday I got a call from the security company... I got the job! And not a day too soon. Wednesday I got my heat and electic bill, yikes! Anyways, life likes to get a good laugh at my expense, I might as well laugh too. Tuesday was Joe's birthday!! I totally surprised him with his gift, go me. It was so totally worth it. And he thought I wasn't going to get him any Lego. Tuesday night is usually poker, so I brought cake over to share with everyone. Sherri and Greg came over too, but instead of playing poker, Sherri and I gabbed about the latest events in our lives. Sherri also brought over a gift for Joe... and me! I'm kinda liking my birthday being so close to Joe's. Bring Joe a gift... and Rhea gets a gift too. Anyways, it was a very nice flower candle... perfect. And the cake was delicious... cake, I like cake! Wednesday I went to the communion service again on campus. And once again, very good. I also tried to touch base with some MD friends that I hadn't talked to in awhile because I've been busy and time has just been flying. Last night was chinese night at Joe's. Yum! Though poor Joe was completely exhausted after taking 3 midterm. I'm so glad those days are temporarily over for me. They'll be back soon enough I'm sure. Today is my sister's 14th birthday... and I have no idea where she is. I've tried the only phone number I have to reach our father and left a message on the answering machine. I haven't heard back yet. So I have no address or phone number for anyone who might know where she is. She's still somewhere in West Virginia with her mom, but they've moved and there's no forwarding address... I love how we all communicate so well. *insert sarcasm here* I'm heading down to MD this weekend to visit my family, and hopefully some friends, and to celebrate my 24th birthday. Am I old? I think yes and no. And next year? A little more yes and a little less no. So it goes... bring on the chocolate cake!! :) Ciao! |
