Week 2 has begun!  Yes, I still love my job, even though I've already had to play disciplinarian to one of the TV executive board members.  I spent this past weekend (by weekend I mean Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon) in Maryland trying to finalize all my moving arrangements.  I signed my lease on Thursday and I move in Saturday the 16th.  That's 5 days away!!  I'm soooo excited!  So yeah, I arrived in MD @ 2pm (exhausted mind you), and immediately got on the phone trying to scope out moving truck prices and reserve a truck for this weekend.  Then I threw myself back into packing up my room.  Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, I counted up how many boxes of stuff I have, and the count is currently @ 64 boxes!  I have
way too much stuff!  And I still have to finish packing up my computer and my filing cabinet.  So I drove back to NY yesterday evening.  Then I get to make the trip all over again his coming weekend.  Fun times, I could probably drive this route half asleep now... oh wait, I've sooooo done that already.  :/  I wouldn't recommend it.

I'll leave you all with this one final thought, a freaky coinky-dink.  Yesterday, while I was downstairs taping up boxes, my mom was watching TLC's
While You Were Out, and I started half watching it with her.  Ok, at the very end, during the whole reveal, I was like "oh my gosh, I so know that guy!"  Yeah, the guy whose wife surprised him with a redecorated room used to be the man of my dreams! ;) (LOL, Barbara knows exactly what I'm talking about!!)  *Disclaimer's Note:  He used to be, meaning he no longer is, but I have to use this title in order to reference the person/events/time period in my life.  Yeah, if you want to know the whole story...

... to be continued.

Ciao!  ;)~

Today was my 2nd day of work, and it's so great!!  *super grin*  I love my boss, I love the students, I love my job responsibilities, I love it all.  I know there will be frustrations too, but I'm sure I'll be ok with them too.  It was so awesome because on my way back from picking up the mail I ran into the dispursing agent for the Student Association (she was part of the panel that interviewed me), and after stopping and chatting for a bit, she commented that I looked like I had been there for a month and that I was fitting right in.  That was such a great thing because I really do feel like I'm fitting right in with the swing of things.

Last night was poker night, but I opted to sit out because it was 10pm and I still hadn't eaten dinner, plus the guys were playing cash games, and it's real easy to lose as much as $40.  No thank you, I'd much rather prefer a $5 buy in and then just sit around playing cards all night, having fun tournament style.  In hindsight, I'm still glad I sat out because they ended up playing until probably 3am or something like that.  Nope, midnight for me, I had to be up @ 7am this morning.

Oh, I thought I would include this in my entry... a tribute to my mysterious "free style skater" who keeps sending me "interesting" emails, questioning my spiritual walk. :) I thought you would appreciate that this email message moved me... so you can keep holding out hope for me. *wink*

After Sept. 11th, one company invited the remaining members of other companies who had been decimated by the attack on the Twin Towers to share their available office space.  At a morning meeting, the head of security told stories of why these people were alive... and all the stories were just:  LITTLE THINGS
The head of the company got in late that day because his son started kindergarten.  Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.  One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.  One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.  One of them missed his bus.  One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.  One's car wouldn't start.  One went back to answer the telephone.  One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have one couldn't get a taxi.  And One man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning took the various means to get to work, but before he got there he developed a blister on his foot.  He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.  That is why he's alive today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone, all the little things that annoy me, I'll think to myself that this is exactly where the Creator wants me to be at this very moment.  Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated;  The Creator is at work watching over you.  May the Creator continue to bless you with all those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.

Lastly, I'm merely hours away from signing a lease.  There was some miscommunications, so the process is being drawn out a little, but hopefully by tomorrow morning the management company will be able to verify my employment, therefore permitting me to sign the lease.  The apartment, which will have brand new paint, carpet, vinyl, and appliances, will be available 10/15.  So I will have to infringe on the good people's hospitality for a little longer... but I will feed them as payment for their patience.  Yum!!

Alright, time for the next endeavor... battling with Microsoft Excel.

Ciao!
