Welcome to the How-To page:
Choosing the right Filter:
There are generally four types of filters available;
1. Piggy-Back
2. Canister
3. Undergravel
4. Wet/Dry Drip

The brands and types to look for are Aquaclear, Emperor, Penguin, Fluval, and Magnum.  These are all readily available so the prices are reasonable and you will have no problems replacing the filter media when needed.
While I recommend the Piggy-Back style, due to their ease of use and reliablity the other filter types have their place.  To determine what filter is right for your situation, contact me or your Local Fish Store.
Choosing the right Aquarium:
First and foremost, you must decide on the size, shape, and what it will be used for.
Ask yourself a few questions;
1. How much space do I have for an aquarium?
2. How much money do I want to spend?
3. What do I intend to put in the tank, large fish, alot of small fish, a reef or planted tank only?  How about a Terrarium?
