So, you've got a great web site with lots of hits, and you want to cash in on the Pay-Per-Click gold rush - you know, put ads on your pages and watch the pennies add up!
But - what happens after the ad is clicked?
Your visitors leave your site for the advertiser's site!
If they already clicked on one ad, they would probably click on another... so how can you get them to come back to your site?
Magic Return can bring them back to your web site.
Magic Return is a JavaScript function developed to provide a way back to your web page.
Like Theseus returning from the Minotaur's labyrinth...
It opens a small window when your page unloads,
with a link back to your site. Like a temporary bookmark.
Magic Return discreetly minimizes as a popunder,
so it doesn't interfere with viewing the linked page.
Magic Return works even after several links are followed.
Magic Return does not interfere with ad codes.
The function is only a few lines of JavaScript code
and doesn't increase page load time.
Magic Return code contains no spyware, adware, or viruses.
Magic Return works with text and banner ads-
in fact, it works with any link, button etc.!
Magic Return and pop up blockers
Magic Return won't work if you block pop-ups.
If the Magic Return window doesn't appear, try holding down the Ctrl key - or if you're using a Mac, hold down the "apple" Command key!
netsperience assumes no liability
resulting from use of the Magic Return code
including:
any interaction with other software, scripts, web page display etc.,
or relations with third parties (including advertising networks)
Magic Return is free open source software
distributed under the terms of the
GNU Public License
as published by the Free Software Foundation.
Magic Return does not violate the TOS agreement, IMHO.
The JavaScript code is separate from the Google code.
The "direct link from an Ad to an Advertiser Page" is not affected.
The Google JavaScript is not modified in any way.
Magic Return launches when the page unloads -
not when the ad is clicked.
It's not activated by the Google code.
The end user is referred to the Advertiser Page without interference.
The end user may choose to close the Magic Return window at any time.
But I asked Google - the response was that Magic Return may not be used with AdSense, because it creates a popunder.
Using Magic Return with AdSense
could lead to disciplinary measures-
even permanent banishment!
However, you may use it with other ad networks -
Review the terms of service carefully,
and when in doubt, ask the administrator!
