This classic planetary nebula is often referred to as the Ring Nebula. It shows a dying star - the white dwarf in the centre of the nebula, illuminating its outer layers which are drifting away into the void. Image notes : SAC9, 37 frames of L @5sec/frame, 16 frames of R, 28 frames of G, and 16 frames of B all @10secs/frame. |
