This is a documentary vinyl record of Radio Northsea International, she broadcasted from the Mebo 2 off the Dutch and English coasts from 1970 till 1974.  She then was bought by the Libyan
Government for 'propoganda' purposes, after they had finished with the ship the Libyan Air Force used it for bombing practice, what a horrible end for a once great radioship.
The home of Radio London from 1964 till 1967, an ex minesweeper that served in the Second World War.  She was fitted out as a radio ship in Houston, Texas and renamed The Galaxy.  She was one of the most successful offshore stations both financially and audience figures.  She was very popular throughout Europe and was missed by millions when she was forced to close down in 1967.
A nice picture of the home of Radio Veronica, this was her second radioship which was called the Norderney.  Veronica brought pop radio to Holland and to most of western europe, most of her programmes were taped in Hilversum, although some went out 'live' from the ship.  At the time of her closure in 1974 she was the longest running of all the off shore stations, she started broadcasting originally from the Borkum Riff in 1960.
Flashback to the Seventies Dutch police make a social call to the crew of the Mi Amigo.  Norman Barrington the JINGLE man is nearest the camera, he told me he was there,  i had the wrong information about the picture.  Normans site is brilliant he has spent a lot of time and energy making it a great website.  Click on the link 'Offshore Radio Link' on the Index page.  Once you have landed on the site click on Jingles and look for Norman Barringtons site, it has great content and it's easy to use .
