Biography
JSD a.k.a. Joe San Diego was born in Ukiah California on May 5, 1982. Hes from
the Little River Band of Pomo Indians, which is located in Redwood Valley and is
better known as RVR. He first started writing poetry in the eighth grade, which
then eventually turned into to writing raps in high school.
He started out with a few of his friends rapping on
instrumentals and at local parties. After awhile he decided that music is what he
wanted to do with the rest of his life. When it came time to take his music career
to the next step he started making his own beats. He took all of the money he had
and invested it into a drum machine and a four track recorder. After releasing many
mix tapes into the underground he decided it was time to work on a full length album.
His first album which is entitled Rezmade is
also the name of his record label, rezmade productions. JSD self produced all of
the music as well as the lyrics on this first album. He said the reason behind
naming his label rezmade is the fact that everything an Indian man sees in his life
can be traced back to the rez. The reason behind that is the fact that we are Rezmade
not U.S. made.
The album consists of fourteen tracks with songs about the rez, girls,
having a good time, taking action and being real. Rezmade has many different topics which
is why it can relate to many different people.
JSD is not the first, the richest, or the
most known native rapper out there. But there is no denying the facts that he has skills
as an emcee as well as a producer.
