REY ADEL'S
SHORT STORY
"TEARS AT SUNSET"

Her friend followed suit greeting her. While some went on inspecting Tom's paintings, the others were busy nibbling the cocktails. Tom was busy explaining the paintings and helping Marie's mother entertain the guests.

Later that night, the guest bade their goodnights. Only Tom and Marie's mother remained.

"Mrs. Vergara, I think you must be tired. I'll attend to Marie for you after I take you home."

"Thanks, Tom. but I'll stay here."

"Tom, please take yourself home. You have been here since this morning. Mom can manage," she pleaded.

"Okay, if that's what you want. I"ll see you tomorrow afternoon then," Tom bargained. He waved her good bye. "Sweet dreams."
