"While I was there in school, we heard of the battle of Dover, Tennessee, and I knew my brother was there. I was so impressed that he was killed. I couldn't study for crying. We got the word in a few days that he was among the slain. The first to fall. How awful to think we would never see that good brother again . We know not where he was buried. The enemy had won.
