CAROLINE C. GREER
I first saw these notes at my great aunt Amy Cooper’s house when I was sixteen. When I began reading I was immediately captivated by the stories of these people. My great great aunt “Tidy” had written down the history of her family for anyone who might be interested. Some of the exact locations and other details are slightly incorrect, but I love the way she tells the stories.
Caroline Greer married Thomas McNaughton at age 19 (1837). She was learning to be a tailor and was sewing for a lady. Thomas would walk by where Caroline was sewing. He thought she was very pretty and admired her pretty hands. They were soon married and had ten (?) children. Their oldest son was killed in the Civil War. She died soon after her oldest son was killed.
