Sunday begins at midnight, which means we hold midnight service for adults 21 and over. We ask that all church members to please arrive no later then 11:00 pm Saturday night
Spiritual Humanism is Religion based on reason. There is a reason humans go out Saturday nights to bars and night clubs. I believe it's the fact that humans need to socialize.
My dream is to hold Sunday afternoon worship service for everyone. At present I just don't have the space. The blue prints are done for the addition of a new Chapel. We are still waiting for the seller to tie into the public sewer system. The old sewer system drain lines are in the way for building the Chapel.
The good news: August 27, 2008 the seller finaly paid the tap in fee.
What do we Worship? Educational humanism:
Discussion Group:
1) We Worship Humans: All humans, regardless of your race, your national origin, or your religious background. Humans are the most important living creature on earth. It's humans that can make this world a better place for everyone to live a beautiful life. It's also humans that can destroy life on earth, lets all pitch in and prevent that.
2) We Worship Nature: Without nature humans would not survive. Trees give the oxygen we breath, plants give us the vegetables and fruit we eat, water gives us life. As humans, it's our duty to preserve everything that's natural.
3) We Worship all living creatures: We belive all living creatures are here on earth for a reason. Some provide us with food, some are used for prescriptions to save lives, some for companionship. Studies have shown that owning a pet may improve your depression symptoms.
4) We Worship the seasons: Known as Solstice and Equinox.
Humanism, as a current in education, began to dominate U.S. school systems in the 17th century. It held that the studies that develop human intellect are those that make humans "most truly human". The practical basis for this was faculty psychology, or the belief in distinct intellectual faculties, such as the analytical, the mathematical, the linguistic, etc. Strengthening one faculty was believed to benefit other faculties as well (transfer of training). A key player in the late 19th-century educational humanism was U.S. Commissioner of Education W.T. Harris, whose "Five Windows of the Soul" (mathematics, geography, history, grammar, and literature/art) were believed especially appropriate for "development of the faculties". Educational humanists believe that "the best studies, for the best kids" are "the best studies" for all kids.
As adults and parents, it's your choice to use (transfer of training) to your children.
You can arrive as early as 8:00 PM to get in our Discussion Group. We cover many topics to help humans become better humans. Here's a few of my major topics.
1) Alcohol: Known as my "DUI Prevention Program" Alcohol is created when grains, fruits, or vegetables are fermented. Alcohol is a natural product, but many adults think they need to drink alcohol in order to socialize with other adults. If you're a drinker that thinks that, please bring your bottle of alcohol with you. Let us show you how you can socialize with other adults without the need for alcohol. If you're a drinker that drinks too much on weekends, let me help you decrease the amount of alcohol you consume.
The legal drinking age throughout the United States is 21. Being that a person might bring alcohol with them is another reason why I do not permit anyone below 21 to attend.
2) Discrimination: Everyone deserves the same level of respect, opportunities, and the right to be happy. No one is born as a superior to anyone else. All humans need be treated as equals. Don't hate a person because of their color. Don't hate a person because they're from another country. You have the right to dislike a person for what that person did, but don't hold that against their race or country.
3) World Peace: Peace on Earth will never occur until religions stop fighting each other. Just because a human has a different religious belief other than yours that doesn't mean you need to go to war and kill him.
