| Organized in 1956, the Revler Social Club began as a Junior/Senior club. In the fall of 1961, we extended our membership to include girls from all four classes. In the fall of 1966, the Revlers became the first club on campus to adopt a constructive pledging program, and other clubs at the university were told to follow our model. Our symbols are the top hat, cane, and white gloves and our mascot is the adorable penguin. The club flower is the white carnation and our colors are smashing black & white. Around campus you will see Revelers sporting our classy black sweaters, a tradition we have carried with us from our years of being a Junior/Senior club. Another tradition we carry from our years as a Junior/Senior club is our "number line" system. The Reveler Social Club promotes individuality, scholarship, diversity, and civic responsibility for all members. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of sisterly love, friendship and understanding among our members. We are a diverse group of girls with one thing in common, the bond of love and sisterhood that only Revelers can bring. Revelers are involved in many other campus organizations including Lamda Sigma, Torch, Mortar Board, Hottentots, the Spectator Staff, Student Government, the Honors College, SOA, The Spectator Newspaper staff, the Student Programming Board, College Republicans and College Democrats, Student Alumni Association, W-Reps, TVA Investment Club, Student Nurse's Association, and all three honorary 2-year social organizations. Community service is an integral part of being a Reveler. Please visit our philanthropy page for more information. As one of our songs says, "There's something special about a Reveler!" |
