 More Fun with the Pontiac, by Rev Lover

 About a month and half or maybe two months after my revving session in the Pontiac where I had it revved to the max and backfiring, I ended up being the owner of the car. My sister and brother in law bought a different car and dad bought the Boneville from them for me. The Pontiac was, after close inspection, in excellent shape overall. I worked on detailing and waxing the paint and the car came out looking really nice. I had to remove the remnants of the tailpipes and use some heavy wire to hold the old glasspacks up under the car. The glasspacks just dumped the exhaust out horizontally ahead of the rear axle and under the body floor. The Pontiac ended up looking really sharp. The exhausts however were another story. They were really loud from inside the car and made the whole car vibrate inside when the 389 revved up. Further, the exhaust poured out under the car and seemed to come out from under it everywhere.

The exhausts made revving quite fun, however. So I took the Pontiac out for several loud, smoky revving sessions. The 389 really screamed through the burned out glasspacks and large volumes of exhaust smoke billowed from under the entire rear of the car. Smoke poured out everywhere from the rear tires back. The noise was almost deafening when I stood on the pedal and revved the 389 to the max. Clouds of the Pontiac's smoke billowed behind it as I floored and floored the gas pedal.
