Ok. The number of people filling out the survey started out at 2 or 3 per day and has dropped to about that many every week. With 63 turned in I figure the numbers won't change too much at this point unless I start getting a sizable new audience from a different source. Before I get to the results, I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to fill it out. I feel like I've got a little bit better idea who you are, and I got lots of positive feedback. And also some strong encouragement to put other stuff on the site such as pictures of people's feet on pedals, and AVIs. Surprisingly, I didn't get any really nasty feedback from anyone, so I guess I must be doing a pretty good job here, considering my limited resources.

Keep in mind that these numbers are flawed since the sample was self-selected, and probably was skewed since the contents of the site are likely to attract readers whose interests most closely resemble mine. It became apparent how easy the results could be skewed by the site contents once a few of the cranking stories went up. Within a week the responses shifted from mainly revving lovers to more evenly split people just into pumping and starting and people into revving and exhaust.

Demographically I was a little surprised at the results. As you'll see, you are overwhelmingly white Americans, but only half of you identify as gay, and 16% of you describe yourselves as bisexual. I wasn't sure what to expect, but given the overwhelmingly homosexual orientation of the stories I didn't expect 25% of you to be straight. Go figure.

As far as your ages go I wasn't terribly surprised at all. Both the mean (average) and the median (the middle number if all the entries were lined up in order) were both 30, and the mode (the most commonly occuring number) was 32. The ages ranged from a 15 year old bisexual to two 54 year old men.

Now for the interesting part. Considering that 9 months ago I had no idea that anybody other then me considered cars to be any sort of erotic object I had no idea how the results would turn out. The results pretty much were all over the place but with almost everyone stongly enjoying pumping. Some of the results confused me. For instance, one guy put that he disliked revving,, yet in the comments section he raved about the Hardst2 sound file. Although I would agree that there is a lot of starting/cranking there, which he strongly enjoyed, I would say that there's a lot of revving in that recording also. I guess this just shows that different people define things in different ways.

Interestingly the only category that no one selected disliked was cranking/starting. I'm not sure what, if anything, that means.

Most of the people who strongly enjoyed or somewhat enjoyed revving were also very much into flooded starts, and almost everyone who enjoyed feeling exhaust strongly enjoyed revving.

A number of people wrote in the comments section that they love burnouts, so I probably should have included that as a seperate category. Oh well. Maybe next time.

I noticed that a lot of people seem to like stuck scenes, which is probably the least represented category of stories on my site, so maybe it's time for me to write some. Or better yet, maybe it's time for some of you stuck lovers to write some stories and send them in!
