 Revving the wagon was as good as it could get. The sounds that the 455 could make come out of its tailpipe were fabulous. Seeing the tailpipe blow smoke while the 455 screamed through it was also a real turn on. I love to see smoke from the tailpipes when a car revs up. When I was at an auto parts store picking up some clamps, I saw a big flare ended chrome tailpipe end. It looked like it would fit over the big tailpipe of the wagon. On a whim I took it out to the wagon and it did. The big wagon looked sharp with a big chrome tailpipe jutting out the driver's side rear. I put it on a miscellaneous cash ticket along with the clamps. I adjusted the new tailpipe tip to not stick too far out to the side. It looked nice and made the tailpipe look even bigger in diameter that it already was.

I wanted to make smoke billow from the wagon's new chrome tailpipe. I started to think of a way to be able to make a plume of smoke so thick that I couldn't see through it blow out of the wagon's tailpipe. I knew there had to be a way to be able to sit and rev & rev it with the smoke billowing out of the tailpipe. To see how far the power of the screaming 455 could blow the smoke along the ground before it started to rise into a cloud, would be fabulous.

I thought about ways to make the wagon smoke while I drove out to the site. As I worked I came up with a plan. I was changing a out a small 12 volt electric fuel pump on each machine I worked on. They all still worked. They just hadn't moved enough fuel for our application. I had hose and all manner of other pieces too. I could make up a little system to shoot light oil like transmission fluid into the carburetor. Putting light oil down the carburetor with the engine running about 2000 rpm makes huge volumes of white smoke pour out of the exhaust.

I would rig it up so that I could be flooring the 455 and turn on the pump with a switch. The air rushing into the carburetor would pull the oil in and then the 455 would blow clouds of smoke through the tailpipe. I had the basic design figured out by the time I was done fixing the machine I was working on. I was way out in the middle of nowhere again so I decided to try a rig up on the way back to town. Before I left the site I put some wires on a switch and made sure that they were long enough to go to a pump under the hood somewhere. I found a hole in the firewall where I could fish the wires out to the pump and battery. I had some bungee cords and things in my kit boxes.

I had some hydraulic oil in gallon plastic containers for make-up oil on the machines. I would tie one of them with a hose in it to the battery box with a bungee cord. Then I'd put a small hose through a hole in the lid down into the oil. The hose would run to the little 12 volt pump and from the pump into the air cleaner. I had the plan, so I left the site and went back to town and the motel. About 10 miles out of town, I saw a dirt spur that went out into the sage and grassland. I went on to the motel and showered and changed.

I rigged up the rest of the stuff in the parking lot of the motel and was ready to try my theory. I tied the pump hose to the carburetor top so that the oil would go into the primaries of the 4 barrel. I turned the pump on for about 5 seconds and then back off. The pump pulled oil from the container right away. I had the switch hanging under the dash. When I checked at the carburetor there was oil in the intake from the hose. Then I put the air cleaner top back on, but not tight enough to pinch the hose.

I started the 455 and when it did a big puff of blue/white smoke billowed out of the new chrome tailpipe. The oil from the test had went into it at startup. I was ready to go try out my chrome piped smoke generator. I drove back out of town to where I had seen the spur road. I followed the spur road out about 2 miles to an area where I could see a long ways. It was 9:00 P.M. and it was almost dark and a bright moon was rising. I parked the wagon and opened the door, and looked back. Then I revved the 455 and rapped the tailpipe for about 10 seconds to make sure the engine was plenty warm and the exhaust system was hot. Then while I was revving it to a rapping scream by fanning the pedal, I turned on the switch for about 5 seconds.

Almost in an instant the chrome tailpipe began to blow white smoke that was so thick that couldn't see through the plume jetting from the tailpipe. The amount of smoke was unbelievable. I turned the switch off and held the pedal to the floor. The tailpipe screamed and blew a jet of smoke across the ground the obliterated everything in it's path. When it slowed down, the smoke still too thick to see through, started to rise in a cloud about 30 feet high and at least as far across. I kept the pedal floored to clear out the 455 until the smoke from the tailpipe lightened and turned blue. The cloud of smoke that was hanging in the air and beginning to drift away was awesome.

I let off on the pedal and the 455 idled down. I got out to look at the smoke some more. Most of the rising cloud was still so thick that it was impossible to see through it. Then I turned and looked at the wagon. It was purring away with it's trademark rumble from the pipe. Blue smoke was puffing out of the tailpipe. The 455 missed every now and then and a lot of times when it did, the chrome tailpipe puffed a smoke ring. I got back in and revved the 455 some more. There was quite a lot of blue smoke pouring from the tailpipe. Then I held it floored and let the 455 rev to the max. In a few seconds it started to backfire and shoot flames from the tailpipe along the with some blue smoke. The flames from the tailpipe were longer than I had seen before and the puffs of black smoke were huge each time the backfire flames shot out of the screaming tailpipe. In the twilight the flash of the flames from the tailpipe lit up the darkness.

I floored it and watched the new chrome tailpipe shoot flames and black smoke puffs. Then I turned the switch on. The 455 stopped backfiring and a jet of white smoke blasted across the ground from the screaming tailpipe. I kept the switch on and the pedal to the floor for almost 10 seconds. The smoke billowed and billowed as the big 455 screamed. I turned the switch off and stomped and pounded the pedal. The 455 rapped and rapped its smoking tailpipe. The size of the drifting smoke cloud was incredible. I romped and stomped the gas pedal and let the 455 roar and smoke until I held the pedal to the floor as hard as I could and made it rev and backfire for 10 seconds or so. I almost started to cum holding the pedal floored and watching the flames shoot out of the tailpipe in the side mirror.

I got back out to see the smoke. It was almost completely dark and the moon was shining. There was a giant haze of smoke hanging in the air about 50 feet off of the ground and slowly moving away. The 455 was purring and making the big tailpipe rumble and puff smoke rings. There was still a lot of blue smoke puffing from the pipe.
