Stylists

ave you ever wondered why your headshots don’t look like Halle Berry’s or the ones on the cover of the magazines? If so happens, there is a crew of people involved in making Stars look like Stars. Besides, the photographer, there are assistants, makeup and hair artists, and of course Stylists. Another secret is someone to handle the imperfections in Photoshop but we will discuss that later on the Graphics page.

Getting back, let us talk about the Stylist’s duties and why you need one. One of the key jobs of a Stylist is to know what is going on in Fashion. Trends, makeup, accessories and the like are the Stylists’ language. When you are doing a shoot, the photographer is worried about the lighting and the shot overall. The photographer’s job is to make sure the photo is taken in the right lighting not if you have lint on your shirt or that you are color blind when it comes to fashion.

So why do you want a Stylist at your Photo Shoot for your headshots? You want to make sure that if you are investing in yourself, that you have a team of people that can help you create the image you want to project which of course is success.

Also, a Stylist can help take off some of the tension when it comes to your photo shoot. Many times people are nervous for a variety of reasons. A cool Stylist can help you focus on being comfortable in front of the camera instead of you focusing on if your shirt is wrinkled.
