The Hays Area Children's Center Resource & Referral Agency is committed to quality care for young children. Services available to child care providers include workshops, professional consultation and a FREE referral service. We serve eight counties--Ellis, Graham, Norton, Phillips, Rooks, Rush, Russell and Trego.
The child care referral service is a strong network that links child care providers who have openings with parents looking for child care. Parents rely on the Hays Area Children's Center Resource & Referral Agency's impartial, computerized matching of their needs with licensed or registered providers. We always need more providers to meet the demand for quality child care.
Computerized Referrals
Here's how the service works: Parents tell us the type of care they want, the ages of their children, their schedule, and any special needs they may have. Our computer matches them with all the providers listed with us who meet the family's needs and have openings. We provide the parents with a complete list, and they decide which providers they want to contact.
Free Listings
It's easy to be listed with us. If you have a valid Kansas child care provider license or registration, just call us at (785) 625-3257 or 1-888-351-3589 to receive a Hays Area Children's Center Resource & Referral Service Application. That's all there is to it. There's no fee. The referral service is free to both parents and providers.
Free Advertising
By advertising with us, you'll benefit from free advertising. We advertise the referral service on the radio and on television. Such advertising works--the number of calls from families requesting information about child care providers increases by more than 10% each year.
Monthly Workshops
A variety of topics of interest are offered to child care providers, including child development, discipline, business practices, activities, first aid, CPR and others.
Professional Consultation
Our staff of child care specialists is available from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays to answer your questions about children, families, child care and education.
