Why are good programs cancelled?

Our programs can only run as long as we have a minimum number of participants registered in them. Therefore, it is very important to register for programs at least a week before the programs start. Don't be disappointed, sign up early! In the event of severe weather, please contact the Centre at 905-615-3207. Please listen to the recorded message to ensure that your program will take place.

Board of Directors' and Executive Director's Message:

Thank you to our members and friends who contributed to the 2008 Donor Board campaign which raised $4,300. We thank the 173 volunteers who contributed 1,700+ hours in our Gift Wrapping fundraiser generating a record $20,000+ for the Older Adult Centre. We thank our partner Square One Shopping Centre for making this fundraiser possible.

Have you noticed the newly renovated Administration Offices? Thank you for your patience in February as we renovated. Congratulations to Anne and her team of volunteers for managing the administration duties so efficiently from a temporary location in the hallway while the renovation was on. You are amazing! The new renovation includes an accessible reception counter to serve our members better. We also installed a new barrier-free water fountain in the lobby.

We thank our founding partner, the Mississauga Central Lions Club, for donating $8,500 to the Older Adult Centre in 2009. That money goes toward capital improvements, Volunteer Recognition and the Senior's Information and Active Living Fairs on March 26 and 27, 2009.

Please note info on our Annual General Meeting set for April 16, 2009. We do have a number of Board of Director positions open, so please consider one of these.

Pat Fyffe, President, and
Sue Hesjedahl, Executive Director
