Beijing: How to Pronounce. How to say Beijing correctly: the first syllable sounds like American "bay", and the second syllable is like the first syllable of "jingle": bay-jing. If you try to make it sound more foreign or exotic by pronouncing the "j" in Beijing as "z" in "seizure", such as "Beizhing" - that would be incorrect. The correct pronunciation of Beijing is "Bay-jing" with "j" pronounced as in plain Jane. They walked 241 miles in 24 days to Dandi in the south, with thousands more joining them en-route.
