A Freeform Poem with Some Wise Thoughts

The majority of readers may not grasp this concept fully; however, if you can truly understand only a little bit. That’s fine. It’s okay especially living in today’s world.
In order to understand this poem even more, make sure you are reading it by yourself and in silence.

Knowing the difference between breathing and “the breath”
Truly breathe in and out though the belly not the chest

Believing in energy surrounding us everywhere.
Most of it comes in bits in pieces not in chunks.

Understanding life being about experiences and perspectives.
The more you know, the more you truly understand.

Being the smartest does not always correlate to success.
It just leads to a better opportunity.

When you are dealt a hand at birth, you can start out with a terrible or great hand.
You can complain all you want about it, but your skill and luck will ultimately determine the fate of your hand.

It’s easy to go with the flow…
It’s nearly impossible to go against the rest in what you know is right.

People who think they know everything
Know absolutely nothing.

A wiseperson guides
Not tells one what to do.

It’s the other person’s choice
To take it or leave it.

Vulnerability may be a strength
While conceitedness is a downfall

It’s harder to take it one step at a time
Than to do various tasks at a rapid pace
Without truly appreciating what had just happened
At that particular moment.

Doing anything in excess leads to a living in the future.
Doing anything slowly leads to truly living in the present.

Having and showing emotion outwardly means much more today
Than holding that emotion deep inside and releasing it at one moment.

There’s a difference between a friend and an acquaintance.
An acquaintance is someone you know from somewhere or something.
A friend is truly there for you, trustworthy,
And be able to have an emotional, deep conversation at any time.

Knowing that some music is mindless
While other forms of it can touch the mind, body, spirit, and soul.
It moves you inside and out.

If men aren’t supposed to cry,
Then men that cry have truly shown their emotion.

If women can’t become priests, doctors, and other highly looked-upon jobs
Then these women that work in these jobs, have truly overcome false expectations
Placed upon them by society.

To live daily in this superficial world means not truly living
To live simply means truly living

The more you want, the less happier you’ll be.
The less you want, the more you have realized the truth.

To ask for change from others
Means to truly ask for a change from yourself first.

In order to truly love someone else,
Love must come from within

Society may say that you are not beautiful
Your mirror will say otherwise.

Anyone can follow someone with your mind
It takes more effort for your heart to follow as well.

Anyone can just put outside chemicals in their body to feel better.
It’s quite another feeling to live as a strong human being
Without them in the face of peer pressure.

Change is not only eminent.
It’s necessary and part of evolving in all shapes of the human form.

If you are truly comfortable with who you are on the inside and outside,
Then the world is ready for you to make change.

Always remember
Knowledge divides, wisdom unites.
Understand this and you have found some meaning in life.
