It all began in 1998 when a tall and lanky debater suddenly discovered that dashes of gray have started to unsuccessfully invade his plate of bald. Was this “growing old”!! – He sighed.
Indeed a crisis. But in whom would he confide to? Where can he draw his strength from? Of course he finally fell back on the proven group – the RENGCOL – 76.

RENGCOL – 76 was admittedly ‘Thodasa Hatke’ from the rest of the world in more ways than one. The Pre-Engg. started with its (in)famous ‘ Tod Phod’. Nevertheless the batch glided on adding laurels to its cadres. It sported an Athletic Blue in Amiya Patnaik, a ‘Buddha Pran’ in Prashant Panigrahi, a Creative Artist in Tarun Saha and to top it all the Sadarjee collections of Sobhan Paul.But 1976 had made a pleasant dislocation.

Mates were not apathetic to the call of this lanky. They joined hands over cups, glasses & fags to fight this hostile Demon- the  Ageing. Heading the brigade was Amiya Patnaik with his so well known imaginative style. What followed were many more luncheons with families, strewn over different joints at Bhubaneswar; with lavish flow of emotions & manageable eateries. But could we recreate the cherished aroma of REC Campus? Perhaps not yet.
