RENGCOL '76 CLUB
Silver Jubilee Celebrations on 27th and 28th
October 2001 at Bhubaneswar
The intention was -
Make me a 76 batch Rengcollian again; just for 2 days."
The Silver Jubilee function on 27th & 28th October 2001 was an ecstatic experience. It has been difficult to put it in writing. The nostalgic memory / hangover is still on. Hence the delay in reporting. In a nutshell; one couldn't have asked for more except participation of more members.
Friends like Funds are always in short supply. The more the merrier. Ye Dil Maange More.
The
number including family members was 95 (close to hundred).
However
the presence of Ronen Baruah from Guwahati, Raghunath Mahanta from Rourkela,
Satish Sarangi from Delhi, P.D.Agarwal from Bhawanipatna, Manojit Mishra
(from Merchant Navy), Prabuddha Mohanty from Talcher and Suresh Chowdhury
from Aska with their families, Himanshu Das from Baroda, Bijay Padhi from
Mettur, Pratap Panigrahy from Delhi, Bisweswar Patra from Mysore, Prabir
Behera from Rourkela, Captain Dipti Ranjan Mohapatra from Hyderabad and
still eligible Bachelor Boy Ashutosh Mishra from Rourkela made all the
difference. The members missed P.K.Dehury who had to abstain from the party
because of injury the day before at Bhubaneswar.
Souvenir
& CD covering the programmes at Bhubaneswar on 27th & 28th shall
be sent to the members by 15th Nov 2001. The Ads and Articles in the Souvenir
will continue to speak of the contribution by each member of RENGCOL 76
including G.Natesh, Dr.P.K.Kar and especially Mihir Rath. All that I can
say WOW !!! What a Gang bang. Invincible RENGCOL 76 batch.Hip Hip Hurray.
The
Cultural functions on 27th & 28th evenings confirmed rather reconfirmed
Director Amiya Patnaik's ability, Dancing Power of Bisweswar Patra, Co-ordinating
Power of Bhabani Patnaik & Controlling Power of Santosh Das after 25
years. The best part of the Grand get together was meeting the guys after
25 years. The typical / common expression was "Guess who? "Anju... Manju
... Yaa... Madhu. Ye jindagi ek Kati Patang hai.
Wait
for the CD; you will know it.
Bye till the next Grand Get together, after a decade.
