https://in-the-sky.org/

What types of content do competitors use on their websites?

Competitors use all the information about astronomy. With the official NASA website, it's about current information and news on-going. The seasky website has information about all the constellations and you have to go to all the individual links provided. As for "in the sky", they have maps of information of where the constellations are aligned and more.

What types of images are used?

There are astronomy and futuristic images used. For example, people holding a telescope, satelites, stars, etc.

What color schemes are used?

There's black, purple, white and blue color schemes. It's basically galaxy themed because astronomy and space have those colors.

Layout styles and techniques used?

Seasky has a pretty basic format, you can easily tell for where to go. NASAs official website has a bunch of images leading to different websites; it's kind of like a newspaper format. "In the sky" is less chaotic and is what usual websites are formed as. It has the headings, footer and it's easier to read and see where to go.

Summary

Overall, the competitors have good color schemes. Some of them are really overwhelming and in your face. They do get confusing because of this, so I hope with my website I can make it more simplistic and to the point. I plan on having the home page be easier to read for readers to know where to go.
