However, the Z-28 was special.� It was a street legal race car brought to the market in 1967 for one reason:� dominate SCCA Trans-Am series racing.� In 67, 68, and 69, Chevy was locked in a titanic battle with Ford for dominance in this series which required that the cars be equipped with options that were available to the public.
This particular example is a 1970 Camaro Z-28.� It marks the start of the second generation of Camaros.

The fourth generation of Camaro premiered in 1993.� It continued to trim down the Camaro and keep the technology cutting edge.
This car represents the best of mature automotive technology and currently comes in base, Z28, and SS trim offering 200, 310, and 320 horsepower respectively.� The base car has a 3.8 liter V-6, while the Z28 and SS provide a detuned Corvette 5.7 liter V-8.� This is arguably the best Camaro ever, but time is running out.� Rumor has it that production stops in 2002.
