Fashion Fixer: Fat Days

How to wear a t-shirt #15

Fashion Fixer: Fat Days Some days, for no reason (or for some particular reason), you wake up feeling out of sorts. You feel unattractive and want to curl back up under the covers.

But you know you have to get out there, so here are some things to help you fight those sneers from yourself staring at you from you mirror.

1. Try all black. Black is slimming, and when you are feeling down, it can feel like wallowing in your own misery. But you also look thinner, taller, and more put together, easily. In business settings, try a black suit with a white or colored shirt, or a printed black top with black pants or a skirt.

2. Wear comfort clothes. Like comfort food, comfort clothes allow you to hide yourself under clothing you love. Don an old fitted tee that shows off your curves, but top it with a comfy sweater. Don't forget your old favorite jeans.

3. Go loud. Sometimes bright, colorful clothing is enough to cheer you up. Go with a monochromatic look to slim (all red) or put a print on the part of you you're least worried about (red pants and a printed top). That ought to wake you up.

4. Get some exercise. Exercise clothing is usually meant for comfort, so gear up and go for a walk or jog. You'll feel better from the exercise and also look better after all that fresh air.

5. Write down a few good things. Tell yourself what you love about yourself, your good features, and don't contradict yourself. You'll have a better perspective on your body, and with self-confidence, you can wear whatever you like.
