The Dress
With warm weather here or on the way, a dress is a simple way to go. It's easy, just one piece and you're dressed! What are your options?
* The sundress. These are lovely and feminine, come in a number of patterns, and are comfortable cotton. Find one with a nice shape and waist, not a shapeless bulge. Often these have pretty ribbons and ties that add feminine charm.
* The shirtdress. Shirtdresses are versatile, because they can be used as "coats" as fall nears, over pants. One with a belt will create a waist on straight figures. You can choose a full sleeve, 3/4 or short sleeve, or even a sleeveless. A longer sleeve will make it easier to double as a coverup later, though.
* The sheath dress. This is the classic dress, sleeveless, that is great for work and play. A lighter fabric will work well for summer. Pick a neutral or solid with one or two accents so that you can wear it for a work look as well. Wear with a cardigan in cooler weather, and when it's warm, add sunglasses!
* The tube dress. A great way of showing off shapely shoulders and the always-slim collarbone. Wear one with a pretty necklace and sandals for summer, and with a shirt or cardigan for a cool night out.
* The wrap dress. A dress that wraps and ties will fit you like a glove, because you can adjust how it fits. Tie it so that it drapes smoothly when you stand straight, with no bulges or wrinkles. This will give you room to move. Wrap dresses come in multiple patterns and look great in darker colors with tiny flower or polka dot designs.
Whatever dress you choose (or if you get one of each), you can wear most of them in the summer or fall. How versatile! For the summer, remember to wear with nice sandals, and don't forget the sunglasses and SPF!
