Everyone needs clothes, but most of us are plagued with having nothing to wear, things that don't go together (or things that just don't go with anything), and that "missing something" you've been trying to fill for months.
A simple solution is best. Choose the right set of clothes - things that all go together so each piece goes with the next. You'll want it suited to your style. And you'll want it to be simple, neutral, and made for easy to take care of. Here, you'll find simple sets of wardrobe essentials. What's your style?
A few things to keep in mind:
* Pick clothes that don't need ironing or dry cleaning. This will save you a lot of effort as well as money.
* Pick a shade you like, and choose items in that color and a little darker or lighter, adding at most 1 other bright color in 2 different shades to complement it. For example, brown and khaki, or black and gray and white, or dark denim and royal blue and sky blue.
* Make sure you have an equal number of tops and bottoms, or at least one or two multipurpose items.
* Cardigans, button-down shirts, shirtdresses, and tank or sheath dresses are wonderful because they work as multiple items. Cardigans and shirts can be worn alone or over another top. Shirtdresses can be a dress or a long light jacket. Tank dresses can be worn alone, with a shirt underneath, layered with a shirt or cardigan, or even with a top over them (to double as a "skirt").
* Stick to very few items. Take multiple of the same if you like it, in the same color or in different colors - you never know if you'll find it again if it's a good deal.
