feature: look like you've got a million

"Excuse me? May I help you?" If you've heard that before, and not without a little smirk and an attitude, you're thinking, These people think I can't afford this stuff. And you can't. So you say, "No thanks" timidly and are careful not to touch anything too much. That's not the way to handle it! In a high class store, sadly, you have to "look" high class. But your new rich look will go a lot farther than just your nearest boutique:

It's nothing new to head to a thrift store, but if you want some easy ways to spice up and show off your new duds, look no further! You'll need these tips to get the most out of your shopping experience.

Pick the right things - you can add your own style to any piece of clothing. Look for versatile pieces that match multiple bottoms or tops, and things you will wear more than once. If they're plain, that's no big deal, but be careful about really fancy or one-of-a-kind items - people will never forget them! That could be good or bad.

Jazz it up - change it once you've got it. You don't have to sew to do that. Get a glue-gun and add cloth, beads, buttons, sequins to your clothes. With some iron-on-transfer paper, you can even add photos and cloth designs pressed right on to the fabric!

Shop till you drop! Things you can dress up at home:

shoes, shirts, pants legs, purses, tank tops, shorts edges, tees, sandals, hair stuff, and more!

before-you-buy checklist:

check seams
check buttons
does it look good on you
check length and fit
look for stains and holes
look at it in daylight
do you love it
will you wear it often
what do you have to match
is it really worth the price
