POLICIES and GRADING
The Work:

Midterm Exam (15%) you will participate in a midterm study session to prepare for the essay exam.

Final Project/Presentation
(30%) Group (2 or 3) presentation of research and "field work" you've conducted based on ideas relatied to food and agriculture. You and I must agree on the project and the criteria for evaluation.

Participation
(40%) Attend all classes and be prepared to contribute to our discussion.

Journal (15%) You are to compose a journal entry for each assigned reading. The journal will be collected at the midterm and again at the end of the course.

The Grade:

A (90-100)  Exceptional work
B (80-89)  Accurate work
C (70-79)  You did the work, but there are deficiencies.
D (60-69)  Serious deficiencies in more than one area.
E (below 60)  Unacceptable performance

Policies:
Be here on time for every class. If you do happen to miss a class, you are responsible for finding out from a classmate what you need to know for the next class.

Turn in all work by the due date.
