The same evening I came to Riga I got to know many of Brunos friends, like Jansons, Zilgalvs and Aldis. I was invited to their summerhouse for the weekend, and that�s an event I would least wanted to miss the whole trip! |

Here is the clubhouse. Bruno and his friends call themself the Social Club, two of the members bought an old farm in a small village 2 years ago and they are renevating it every weekend. This house used to be the barn, but soon it will serve it�s purpose as a bar for thirsty clubmembers. Our sleeping facilities were on the 2nd floor! at the photo you see Aldis doing something near the well. Jansons is sitting, Zilgalvs in the middle and Bruno farest to the right! |

Maris Jansons in the front of the 2nd floor of the barn. Jansons works as a marketing director of a floursing international company in the growing economy of Latvia. He does frequent visits to Helsinki and Stockholm. Jansons spent 5 weeks in Iceland 2 years ago, taking practice and getting to know pecularities of the Iceland market! |

The beach was great! This is a real beach Bruno and Jansons told me, and this is real sand: brown, not black as in Iceland. Sand is black not brown I replied. Growing up in vulcanic Iceland makes your norm a bit different then others! |

So this is the shores of Kurland, which the mighty vikings were afraid of! And these are the descendants of the Kurz, being a descendant of Egill Skallagrimsson made me a bit scary! Is the concept of revenge still praciced! |

Preparing for the Saturday party! When Icelandic and Latvian traditions comes together it has some deadly consequences. Latvians want to drink much early and less when it gets late, Icelanders want to drink less when it�s early and much when it gets late, every drink before 9�clock has it�s multiplicity effect after midnight. We both had influences on each other leaving some of us in deadly pain the next day! Brega/skal |

The Social Club runs a lot of activities, one of it is football (soccer) and it is a possibility that an Icelandic football team: Geirfuglar visit the Social Club, Latvia next summer to have a friendly match! |
