Many people have heard about the Bayern Ticket, but most people don�t realize:
1. Bavaria starts less than 30 miles from FRA. On the normal route to W�rzburg, the first stop in Bavaria is the town of Kahl (Main),
2. You can buy a ticket from the local transit district, RMV (Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund), from FRA to Kahl for just �6,75 per person. Or, if there are four or five of you, you can get a Gruppentageskarte (group day ticket) to Kahl for �22.
3. You can buy a Bayern Ticket in the Munich airport (�19 for one person, �27 for up to five, from an automat, �2 more at a ticket counter).
So, one person can travel from Frankfurt airport to anywhere in Bavaria for just �25,75. Two people can do it for just �40,20 (�20,25 each); five people, �9,80 each. Of course, if you are making this trip on a weekend, two of more people can take the same trains described below, all the way from FRA to Bavaria with a Sch�nes-Wochenende-Ticket for only �33.
The following table gives examples of the time it takes to get from Frankfurt airport to various places in Bavaria by selected types of trains and the fares for those trains.

The fare for regional trains is shown mostly for reference. You normally would not use that fare if the Bayern ticket were available. However, note that the regional fare to W�rzburg for one person (�23,40) would be less than the RMV ticket plus a Bayern Single Ticket (�25,60).
Most connections use the S-bahn to Frankfurt Hbf. The S-bahn (S-8 or S-9) leaves Gleis (track) 1 of the Regionalbahnhof every 15 minutes at :02, :17, :32, & :47 after the hour. These S-bahns will show Hanau, Offenbach, or Hauptbahnhof as their destination. The few that say Hauptbahnhof will come into the main station at ground level, the same level as the train that leaves for W�rzburg. The rest will pass under the Hauptbahnhof through the underground station (Tief = deep). It will take about 10 minutes to come up the escalators to the ground level. Follow the train symbol to get to the tracks. There is also an elevator on the platform that will take you right to the tracks.

Note that the 8:34 train (RE 4504) leaves Kahl at 9:04, so on a weekday you could begin using the Bayern Ticket from there. The earlier trains could only be used on weekends.
For this trip, you will need RMV Single Trip tickets or a group ticket from the airport to Kahl and a Bayern Ticket for the rest of the trip.

2. Enter the number with the keypad.
3. Select the ticket type. The upper left button is single trip adult. Somewhere down the column you will find the Gruppentageskarte (group day ticket).
4. When the amount is displayed, put in your money.
