| German Rail and the state of Saxony (Sachsen) offer several promotions for travel in the Czech Republic. 1. There is a transition region that includes parts of Bavaria, Saxony, and the Czech Republic along the border. On the Czech side the region extends to Pilsen. On weekends, with a Sch�nes-Wochenende Ticket, you can not only use all the regional trains in Germany, but also Czech regional trains (R, Os, and Sp) inside the transition region. 2. During the week, Saxony sells for �27 a B�hmen-Ticket, which is good for travel all over Saxony and in the part of transition region opposite Saxony. The ticket is valid for up to five people from 7 AM until 3 AM the following day, or, on weekdays that are also holiday, from midnight. 3. German Rail also sells a Prag Express ticket, which is good for a round trip on any of three daily connections (two direct) from N�rnberg, Munich, and Regensburg to Prague. Prices are, from Regensburg, �39, from N�rnberg, �49, and from Munich, �59, per person. 4. German Rail sells an �anschluss� ticket that is valid for Pilsen to Prague for �10,20 per person, one way. On weekends, you can use the Sch�nes-Wochenende Ticket for travel on any regional trains from anywhere in Germany to Pilsen, and the anschluss ticket from there to Prague. For two people, that would cost about �25 each, one way. 5. During the week, you can also buy a German Rail ticket from the border at F�rth im Wald to Prague for �18,60, and use a Bayern ticket from anywhere in Bavaria to F�rth im Wald, and from there to Prague for �31 each for two people. |
