Balboa Park is a must see in San Diego.  It's a huge park right in the center of town. It features beautiful gardens, a host of museums featuring fine arts, history and technology and, of course, the world reknown San Diego Zoo.

Another great place in the park is this huge outdoor organ.  The benefactor who donated the money also provided a special fund to pay for a free organ concern every Sunday...forever!

The Zoo is fantastic.  Plan to spend the entire day.  If you get hungry, try Albert's Restaurant.  It's a real sit down restaurant with great food and it's located in a treehouse (really!) not far from the Gorilla exhibit. Some of the best sights at the zoo are underwater...such as the hippos (above left) and the Polar Bears (above right).  Of course the Polar Bears were Bob's favorite since they were the mascot of his alma mater...Columbus North High School.
