Nobska Point Light The Cape has several wonderful lighthouses, but Nobska Light is one of the nicest and it is easy to visit. It's located on the south shore of the Cape in the town of Falmouth, near Woods Hole. It is on the closest point of the mainland to Martha's Vineyard island...our next stop. |

Edgartown Martha's Vineyard is about a 45 minute ferry ride from Woods Hole. The best way to get around the island is to rent a bike at the ferry dock. You can take your car over if you book well in advance, but you don't need it. There is also bus service between the three small villages, Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. The beaches on the south side of the island are the best in New England. |

Chappaquiddick Island From the foot of the main street in Edgartown you can see Chappaquiddick Island across a small channel. There is a barge that ferries cars and people across the channel. Of course in the middle of the night the barge does not operate, so you would have to swim the channel as Teddy Kennedy did one night you may remember. |
