| Woods Hole Harbor Not only is Woods Hole home to the steamship authority that serves the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, it is also home fishing boats and pleasure craft that ply the waters of Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay. But even more important is its role as home to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Some of the the world's most important oceanographic research is conducted by scientists on board ships based here. |

| Falmouth Harbor Fishing has always been a big industry on the Cape. You can't beat the taste of fresh seafood bought right from the boat. Along with fin fish such as sea bass, blue fish, tautog, mackeral, flounder, and cod, the Cape is noted for its clams, scallops and lobsters and has one of the richest squid fisheries in the world. Calamari anyone? No doubt about it, these two fishermen are regular guys, too! |
