MY CHEVELLE'S HISTORY |
This is the history of what my car and I have been thru. |
FIRST THING FIRST AUG 94 - DEC 94 KILLEEN, TEXAS |
* First thing was to put the car on blocks in the driveway, and began to remove the entire exhaust system, the seats, the carpeting, and the tires to inspect suspension system. Cleaned the entire car from top to bottom, to see what I was in store for. * Installed new wheel cylinders and brake shoes all around. * Installed new master cylinder. * Installed Blackjack Headers with duel turbo exhaust mufflers with chrome tips. * Replaced the front control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints, idler arm and center link. * Installed a new battery. * Rebuilt the 2bbl carburetor and did a tune-up on the engine. * For not knowing when the engine last ran on the road, it sounded rather well. * Found that the heater core was leaking and replaced it. * I drove the car for one day and decided to replace the 2bbl carburetor and intake manifold with an HEI distributor. WOW what a difference!! |

MODS DONE TO IMPROVE REACTION TIMES JAN 95 - DEC 95 |
* Removed all air conditioning equipment. * Removed front sway bar. * Removed all interior panels and replaced with aluminum panels. * Installed shift improver kit. * Installed gas shocks on all four corners. * Replaced stock intake and 4bbl carburetor with a Edelbrock RPM intake manifold, and a 600-CFM Performance carburetor. |

THE NEGLECTED YEAR JAN 96 - DEC 96 |
* Replaced the 2-core radiator with a 4-core, after it sprung a leak on the way home from work. * Replaced rear end, after the cross shaft let go and slammed into the case. Tore up all the gears in side the diff. I was on my way home when this happened too. I guess that's what I get for sneaking out of work early. * Got tired of driving a very ugly car around town. Still dull orange with white stripes. * Started stripping the paint off the car by hand. WOW what a lot of work. * Finished the body work and prep it for paint. So I bought some cheap paint to paint the car. I picked out what I thought was a nice blue. After spraying, it turned out to be Ford blue. What as insult to a Chevrolet. |
