| The car was
rescued from Action Auto Recyclers in Temple, Texas in August of
1994 for $1000.00. When I bought the car it was a very dull orange
with white stripes up the hood and down the trunk. The left front
fender and door were primer red and from a 1968 chevelle as you can
see in the picture above. The right rear quarter panel was creased
very badly. The brakes were completely shot, along with the exhaust
system, and most of the interior. What made me buy it you ask? Well
my first car was a 1969 Chevelle, and I've always wanted to get
another one. I just love Chevelle's. I saw this one in the paper and
went to check it out. I wanted one so badly that I didn't care what
shape it was in. I heard the engine run for about 15 seconds, give
or take 5 seconds, and said, "I'll take it". What was I getting
myself into?
The engine is a 1970, 350 cubic inch engine, 2 bolt mains, 2 bbl carburetor, stock
point distributor, and single stock exhaust, that is what was left
of it. Inside the air cleaner and the interior was a lot of mouse
shit. It was every where. |
