Well I had a great day today. A week or so ago there was one of those travel shows on TV. You know the kind... it takes you to exotic holiday places, that you could never afford unless you scooped the big one in Lotto or something, and even then you would feel guilty spending $1,000 per night for a room. This time though, they were harping on about a walk along the foreshore from Bondi to Coogee. I said to myself (self I said...) "You could ride that on your bike".

So, today as bright as a lark, I got up at 5:30 and drove to Bondi junction. Freezing cold wind (nipples hard, nipples hard), I then rode my push bike down to Bondi Beach. For those of you that haven't heard of Bondi Beach (shame on you), its famous in Sydney. Its in the eastern part of the city and full of bloody tourists. See the link below (after not now...).

Anyway, I then rode along the foreshore footpath, going south. I passed all the early morning runners (Lovely ladies...jiggle, jiggle, wobble, wobble (they jiggled and I wobbled!!)). I managed to keep upright though, and It was good to note that I wasn't the only one with stick-e-out nipples, as I passed all the lovely beaches down to Coogee.

I forgot to take into consideration the stairs up and down the cliff face, so got a lot more exercise carrying the bike up and down them too. As I went along, I stopped and read all the council nature signs. Did you know for instance that the English built a pier at Coogee complete with penny arcade etc in 1924?
The Aussies said "Crikey (as they do!!), the sea gets a bit rough round here mate", but the Brits said it would never fall down.
By 1934 they had to pull it down because it was falling apart!!!
Really conned the Aussies didn't we??? I bet it was just out of warranty!!

I had taken some left over chicken from last nights dinner, between two slices of bread for lunch, and sat in the sun and ate that (tormented the seagulls). I then rode back to Bondi junction. The junction is quite a big shopping center, so I had a bit of a window shop, and then rode around Centennial park nearby. Overall I'm bloody knackered but had a great time.

So what's the point of all this???

Well apart from telling you that I'm having lots of fun, and making you all jealous... I was zooming down a footpath (Pedal. pedal, pant, pant) when the footpath sort of came to an end. I'm not quite sure what the builders were thinking, maybe its for scuba divers or something. The pic says it all.

Byeeeee for now
