A Shining Light

When I first arrived at the residence I wondered why there
were two men sitting at one of the tables in the dining room. I guess I was just caught up in the excitement of finally being there that my brain was unable to comprehend the meaning of their presence. After I settled in it wasn't long before I realized that they were FTM (female to male) transsexuals. I suppose that reality should have dawned on me when I first saw them, but I have to say they were so convincing as men that at first I really thought they were born that way. I have come to appreciate the transformational powers of testosterone. It is far superior to estrogen when it comes to morphing one's physical appearance. FTM's have the luxury of becoming more passable than most MTF's will ever achieve. The only advantage a MTF has is in the genital area. It's far easier to construct a vagina/vulva than to erect a penis.
I talked with both of those men sparingly
for the first day. I suppose it was serendipity that changed
my stay there for the better. One of those men was a vegetarian which meant that we had a little in common. After I had talked to Dr. Mnard on Friday night one of the men (I'll refer to him as Randy because he wants to remain anonymous) asked me if I would like to watch some TV in his room. I accepted his offer and we proceeded to hole up in his room for a lenthy visit. He popped some microwave popcorn as we watched a few shows. I was elated that he didn't care if I watched Syracuse play one of their games in the NCAA basketball tournament. We had a wonderful time just sitting there getting to know each other. We shared alot of intimate details about our lives in the process. I really enjoyed chatting with him. He was truly wonderful to spend time with. It was a real shame to have to go back downstairs to sleep in the same room with my rebellious roommate.
The next morning after breakfast
we spent some more time chatting in the pool area. The conversation flowed freely as we talked about many different subjects. Randy gave me some wonderful advice concerning my upcoming stay in the hospital that proved to be very beneficial. I know he doesn't want me to share all the things we talked about, but I have to relate one thing he told me. I asked him what it felt like the night before his surgery. He told me it was the same feeling he had the night before Christmas. The wonder of anticipating what the next morning would bring was like waiting for the Jolly Old Fart to make his way down the chimney. His statement would prove to be prophetic when it was my turn to leave for the hospital. We went for a walk that afternoon in the rain. I was so glad we were spending time together. It took the edge off of my anticipation of the upcoming surgery. He was going to be leaving for home the day of my surgery. I wished he could be there when I was going to come back from the hospital. When we arrived back at the residence I sat back and awaited the arrival of my sisters and one of my TS friends who was bringing along her wife and daughter. Randy and I watched the Lord of the Rings on video downstairs. Although I had not seen it yet, it didn't stop us from laughing throughout the movie. He was rapidly turning into my shining light!
