Cubs History

In 1899 there was a team of Desert Rangers to meet and play baseball in New Mexico. This team later became known as the Bear Cubs of Chicago. But Desert Rangers wasn't the first nickname they got from the press. To find out how it all started and how the Cubs became the greatest team in the league to become the biggest loser in the league back to becoming the biggest . . . well, let's see how they are doing this year - but to find out how they did in the last century, the history section "Behind the Bleachers" will take you back all the way to the beginning, to 1876.
