INFORMATION FOR RUNNERS

The Reepham Runners are affiliated to the Norfolk County Amateur Athletics Association, and to the South of England Athletics Association (SEAA).

The first race organised by Reepham Runners was on Sunday 21 August 2005. This was 8.25 miles. In 2006 it was 9 miles but for 2007 it will be 10K. See below and e-mail Beryl for an entry form. We are redesigning from scratch our web site with a new website address. Watch this space....

We had very positive feedback from the 130+ runners last year and expect a bigger turnout for this year's event which will be on Sunday 19th August 2007. Entries will be by post, not on line. (No need for the stamped addressed envelope this year).

Dominic Blake was the first non club runner home in 5th place; it was the day after his birthday and the nights drinking did not help his performance (He was 3rd last year)

The Reepham runners meet every Sunday morning at 8-15 a.m. to 8.30a.m in the car park next to the sports centre belonging to the Old Brewery House Hotel in Reepham. (If we are not there it means either that we are entering an event elsewhere or that the weather is so bad we chickened out of a run). The runners vary in age size shape and ability; on that basis, all are welcome and are likely to find someone at their own level with whom they can run. The distance we run on a typical Sunday may be from 4 miles up to 10 miles or sometimes more if there are members building up to a half marathon (or more). The emphasis is on encouraging each other to improve versus our individual targets rather than a competitive nature between members.
We enter races and liaise with each other to try and enter the same races as our fellow members so as to share transport etc.

The countryside around Reepham (being in Norfolk) is relatively flat, but picturesque, (and in the summer the rain is much warmer). In the summer we also meet at 6-15 p.m. on a Tuesday for an evening run. (i.e now that the clocks have moved forward an hour). The club has a social side too, and as well as the quarterly meeting (which may be one hours meeting and two hours in the bar), we organise social events. It is a very friendly club and we welcome new members.
If you want to come running please ring 01603 873111 for other information. Ask for Dawn.

Send me an e-mail. If you require an entry form for 19 August 2007 request one and we will send you one by return in Microsoft Word format.... we are in the process of designing a new web site so apologies in the meantime.

The physio Reepham Runners are happy to use is well qualified and has been found to be very effective and successful; his website can be found via this link.
