Bleed me dry

The news were sudden and completely unexpected. While trying to accommodate to his new apartment, his new image and completely made up life, Heero had no time to watch the news or even bother to check the newspapers.
To the outside world, he was a reach girl owning the entire floor of an elegant, but not overly expensive building.
Shifting in between two sexes was tiring enough without having to deal with some nosy neighbors. So he had made sure to have none.
After a while when the routine set over and his trace was lost somewhere in the East Africa, did he thought of watching some news. Coming back to his apartment from a weekly trip to the mall, he'd heard the porter and the receptionist talking about the Peacecrafts. At least he thought they were. It was possible he was deluding himself, hearing what he wanted and feared to hear.
Nevertheless, he decided to check. His instincts didn't fail him. It was on the news.
"...it is shocking that such a tragedy affected the most influential and respected family of the Sank Kingdom. And a little over a year ago we were all grieving the tragic death of Senator Peacecraft's only daughter, Relena.
After three days of investigation, the Sank Kingdom Police Department has no solid leads in this case. It is still unknown why, and most importantly who, did commit those brutal crimes. The Police are still researching the possible threads that could help solve the mystery of the death of Senator Peacecraft and Dr. Giles Jacob who as we know was the head of Peacecraft Science Institute." There was a shot of the building Heero knew all to well. He shuddered. The reporter standing with the Peacecraft Mansion in the background, continued.
"More surprising is the fact that - although this wasn't confirmed by the official sources - the PSI was actually researching gene technologies in the fields that were forbidden by the UN over ten years ago. The Institute as well as the Peacecraft Mansion are closed for the time being. Both buildings are searched over for more evidence and confirmation..."
Shock wasn't exactly what Heero experienced. He was relieved, stunned, terrified even.
He fell heavily in the couch staring blankly at the screen. Did that mean he was free, finally able to find some peace? No more hiding and looking over his shoulders for lurking head hunters?
He couldn't quite believe.
During the next days, all he did was following the news. Everyone had his own theory on Peacecraft's murder and Heero had analyzed them all. He came up with no solid solution that could satisfy his curiosity, but considering the field of research, it could be anything from a failed experiment to a simple assassination. And Peacecraft did have enemies in certain circles.
And at last Heero had an opportunity to do something he never before succeeded...
Using the occasion that the PSI was closed and sealed by the Police Force, Heero took his chances to break into the Institute's mainframe and destroy all data concerning his existence. The police specialists weren't even close to getting behind the security measurement undertaken by PSI in order to protect their illicit operations. Heero intended to facilitate their way into the computer system... after he's finished his own business.
He took care of his own files first downloading them onto his own laptop then deleting them. He doubted there was anyone qualified at the Institute this time of the day to realize what was happening. And even so there was no way for them to know how to stop him in time.
After that he deleted all data with reference to his person and the PSI experiments and neutralized most of the security around the system. He wiped all other traces of his intrusion into the computer mainframe. He wasn't worried about leaving a trace. It was too complicated to follow and broke off in the East Europe.
In the next few days, he frequently broke into the SKPD system to look into their files on the case. They indeed managed to break into the PSI network (the fact the press hand yet to find out about) and were currently in the process of finding and arresting everyone from scientists to hired guns the PSI had records on. And Institute's dossiers were painfully detailed.
When it ... that Peacecraft's illegal connections were of international nature, the case was taken over by the federal police. More arrests followed in many different countries. However, Heero lost the chance to follow the investigation as closely as before. Although it wasn't so urgent anymore, when he knew his name didn't emerge anywhere.
After couple of weeks, he decided to sell both apartments Nicole York owned. One he bought himself still under the false name but without disguising himself as a woman. The other went to an unfamiliar bidder. He wasn't particularly interested who it was, but did check the man and came up with nothing suspicious.
But even having a this new scrap of safety, being on a verge of a new life, Heero still frequently caught himself staring at the door, his body tense, waiting for someone to come for him and break the illusion of safety he tried to live in. He found it rather funny considering the fact he never did this while Relena's father was still alive. But even when he acknowledged this his eyes still wandered to the door at some occasions. Now he was dong it again.
The beep of his phone startled him and made him jump. As he went to answer it, he couldn't help but scowl at his lack of attention. It happened often lately. Too often for his liking.
"Yes?"
"Mr. Keichi. There is a package for you here. Should I send someone to bring it to you?"
//A package?// Heero was instantly alarmed. He didn't know anyone who could send him something.
"No Andre, I will take care of it. Thank you."
"As you wish, Mr Keichi. It will be waiting for you at the reception"
"I will be right there."
The box was long, black, flat and bound with a white ribbon. His current name was written on the card attached to it. The handwriting didn't tell him anything. He examined it carefully than opened it slowly.
A rose.
Pure... Black... Rose...??
Even its leaves and stalks were so dark it was hard to say if they were green or black.
The flower was lying on the four white envelopes. As he reached for the rose, his hands shook in unexplained fear and - with a frown, he recognized the feeling as - excitement? It had thorns.
He set it aside and cautiously opened the first envelope...
The dead eyes of the late Senator Peacecraft looked back at him from the full color photograph.
After staring at it a couple of seconds, he put it aside and reached for the next one.
The other has perfectly captured the bloodied metal remnants of Dr J cybernetic implants. They were displayed as if on some kind of twisted exhibition - one by one - carefully put in a single row.
A acid bile went up Heero's throat. He threw up when he saw the third picture...
Cleaning the bathroom as a way to stop his hands from shaking turned up to be completely ineffective. He had to look into the last envelope.
His fingers twitched undecided - he was afraid to look at it because somehow he knew this one would be the worst.
At last he forced his hand to move and took the last photo out. His eyes widened as his lips let out the strangled sound he never thought he would hear coming out of his own mouth.
His slack fingers let go of the picture and it floated down onto the floor - a clear black and white image of himself sleeping peacefully in his own bedroom, in his own bed, curled protectively on his side with hi hand under the pillow where he knew his gun was kept.
And on the white covers - in the room illuminated by the silver moonlight - a dark shadow of a man loomed over his slumbering form.
It fell on the floor and Heero's stunned eyes saw the writing at the back.
"Always there to guard your eternal sleep..." It wasn't signed but for a single symbol of a Christian cross. Below was the rest of the message:
"I'm coming for you Heero.
Think of a good way to thank me for my wonderful gift..."//He knows my name!!//
"Oh, God..."
He had to get away!
HE ROAMED THE BEDROOM, grabbing the most important thing. He was just throwing his weapons on the growing pile when a cold shiver warned him of the presence behind him.
His blood run cold.
He grabbed his gun and pivoted aiming straight for the figure standing at the door to his bedroom. Puzzled he stopped himself from pulling the trigger. For it was only a boy standing there no older than Heero himself, a smile on his face and a black rose in his hand, a rope of hair swinging behind him. //What the...!?//
"Who are you!!?"
The boy took a step forward and stretched out the hand with the black rose, Heero left lying on the floor of his leaving room. Heero tensed and involuntarily took a step back pulling the trigger. //No!//
The longhaired boy reeled back but remained standing. He smiled and Heero shivered.
"You should put it in the water, Hee-baby." he said and launched himself at the Japanese boy. They fell on the bed, Heero screaming and emptying the clip into the body above him. Yet it seemed to be unharmed by the shots... His weapon was forced out of his hand and he himself pinned to the bed by a grinning figure.
It leaned over him and grabbed his chin in a painful grip forcing Heero to meet the strange eyes.
"Let's get down to business, shall we Heero? I let you go once but I don't intend to make the same mistake twice." The demon whispered and licked Heero's lips clenching his fingers on the struggling body. "You're mine now." It hissed and Heero closed his eyes trying to get away from the glowing orbs. he could feel it descend upon his neck. heero inhales sharply seconds before he felt the teeth breaking his skin...
**It came to him feeling up the emptiness he felt as his blood flood away from his body - the night at the underground parking, the night at his apartment - his sinful thought, forever-damned wants. He could feel the shame at giving up so quickly, before it was scorched by the old-new feeling of ecstasy.** Heero gave in again.
"Duo..."
