{3 points and prize for everyone who solves this riddle}

The Setting: You are hanging out with
your friends at (place). While you are talking with your friends,
a strange (but trustworthy) and wealthy person
comes up to you and makes you an offer.

The Offer: "I have wandered to many far away places,
but no one has been able to solve my riddle yet.
If you solve my riddle, I will give you a handsome reward."

The Riddle:"In this bag, I have many gold coins. Here is 17 gold coins."
::::Takes 17 coins out and puts it on top of the table::::
"I want you to give all 17 of these coins to three people.
The first person gets 1/2 of the coins.
The second person gets 1/3 of the coins.
The third person gets 1/9 of the coins.
And you're not allowed to cut the coins into pieces
or anything like that. (No fractions allowed.)
How will you divide it?
Now who can solve my riddle?"

Answer:
First you ask the strange man, "Can I borrow another coin?"
The strange man replies, "Why, of course you can!"
Then you say, "Thank you. Now I have 18 coins. If one person has to get 1/2 the coins, he will get 9 coins because 1/2 of 18 is 9.
If the next person is to have 1/3 of the coins, he will get 6 of the coins because 1/3 of 18 is 6.
The last person has to get 1/9 of the coins, so he gets 2 coins because 1/9 of 18 is 2.
9 † 6 † 2 = 17 . Here, you can have this coin back."
The stranger exclaims, "Wonderful! You are a smart fellow. Now here is your reward."
(A prize will be sent to you shortly if you gave a complete answer similar to this one.)

2) Riddle:
An Emperor wanted to reward a servant for all
his hard work and he asked the servant what he
would like. The servant replied that all he
wanted was some rice. The servant said that he
was very fond of playing chess and suggested
that on the first square of the chess board be
put two grains of rice, on the second two times
two grains (4 grains), on the third four times
four (16 grains) and so on - each time multiplying
the sum of grains on the previous square by itself.

regret his decision, why?

Answer:
On the fourth square the total is 256 grains, on the fifth 65,536, and on the sixth 4,294,967,296. We gave up trying to calculate what the sum would be on the last square.
